Game Overview

Beauty and the Beast: A Board Game Adventure is one of those weird little Disney spin-offs for the Game Boy Color that somehow works better than it should. It’s basically a digital board game where you roll dice, move around a map, and trigger mini-games—all while collecting roses before the Beast’s time runs out. The art’s surprisingly decent for a GBC title, with little pixelated versions of Belle, Lumiere, and the gang popping up.

At first, I thought it’d just be a lazy cash-grab, but the mini-games are actually kind of fun—stuff like dodging Gaston’s arrows or matching dishes for Mrs. Potts. The music’s got those familiar Disney melodies, though they’re a bit tinny on the handheld. It’s not deep, but if you’re into lighthearted board game vibes with a Disney coat of paint, it’s a decent way to kill an afternoon. Just don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
