Birds of Prey came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Electronic Arts. It was a flight combat sim from a time when 3D graphics were still emerging, and it ran on hardware that feels ancient now. The game put you in the cockpit during World War II, focusing on air combat without much hand-holding.
You pilot either Allied or Axis aircraft, completing missions like escorting bombers or engaging enemy fighters. The game uses a first-person cockpit view, and you manage throttle, weapons, and navigation manually. Missions are objective-based, often requiring you to destroy specific targets or protect friendly units. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be steep, especially with limited fuel and aggressive enemy AI. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
