Play Blades of Steel on GBC Online

You slam dudes into the boards, steal the puck, then suddenly you're mashing buttons in a fistfight—this is hockey at its most gloriously ridiculous. The tiny sprites somehow make every check and brawl feel satisfying.

Game Overview

Blades of Steel on Game Boy Color is that perfect kind of old-school hockey—fast, chaotic, and way more violent than you'd expect. Within seconds of starting a match, you're slamming guys into the boards, stealing pucks, and then suddenly... bam, a fight breaks out. The little pixelated players square off, and you mash buttons to throw punches like some weird hockey-themed Street Fighter moment. It shouldn’t work, but it absolutely does.

The controls are simple (pass, shoot, check), but the AI actually puts up a fight, and games stay tight. The GBC version somehow keeps all the charm of the NES original, just shrunk down for on-the-go play. You’ll either love it for the nostalgia or because no other hockey game lets you beat someone up mid-period over a questionable slapshot.

Still holds up if you like your sports games loud, dumb, and a little mean.
