Game Overview

BloodNet came out in 1993 from MicroProse, a time when MS-DOS games were pushing into darker, more complex territory. It blends cyberpunk and gothic horror, setting you in a near-future New York overrun by vampires and corporate corruption. The aesthetic is pure pixelated noir, with shadowy streets and a synth soundtrack that pulls you right into its grim world.

You play as Ransom Stark, a private investigator infected with vampirism who must find a cure before the transformation completes. Gameplay mixes point-and-click adventure with RPG elements; you explore the city screen by screen, talk to bizarre characters, and solve puzzles with often obscure logic. Combat is real-time but clunky, relying on managing your bloodlust and cybernetic upgrades. The pacing is slow, and the difficulty can be punishing, with many ways to fail or die unexpectedly. Playing it feels like untangling a grim, atmospheric web where every choice has weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
