Brides of Dracula came out on the Amiga in 1992 from Gonzo Games. It was a two-player game for its time, letting you and a friend go head-to-head in a split-screen gothic horror setting. You don't see many games built around that kind of direct competition from that era.

One player controls Van Helsing, who must explore the village and castle to gather thirteen specific tools needed to defeat Dracula. The other player is Dracula, whose goal is to find and convert thirteen women into his vampire brides. Both characters face constant threats; Helsing is attacked by ghouls, while Dracula is hunted by armed villagers and priests. You navigate screen by screen, managing your health and trying to complete your objective before the other player. The game moves quickly and feels tense, especially when your opponent is just one screen away. It creates a genuine sense of urgency and rivalry.
