Game Overview

Budokan: The Martial Spirit is a video game of fight developed and published by Electronic Arts, released in 1989 on MS-DOS. The game is also available on Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, Mega Drive, MSX and ZX Spectrum. The game takes place in a dojo where various martial arts are practiced: The Karate The nunchaku, the bo and kendo. The game opts for a more realistic style than most other fighting games. Budokan: The Martial Spirit was designed by Michael Kosaka and programmed by Ray Tobey on MS-DOS. The game supports the display standards CGA (4 colors), EGA (16 colors), VGA (256 colors) and Hercules and the sound card AdLib PCS. The program was adapted by Mike Schwartz Amiga, C64 Pablo Toledo and John Tomlinson on Mega Drive. The game's music and sound effects are composed by Rob Hubbard.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
