Burnout 2 on GameCube is basically "what if we made a racing game where crashing is half the fun?" You’re not just dodging traffic—you’re weaving through it at insane speeds, scraping past buses, and getting rewarded for near-misses with a boost meter that fills up the more recklessly you drive. Drift around a corner on the wrong side of the road? Bonus. Slam into an intersection and cause a 10-car pileup? Even better.

The tracks twist through actual city streets (no sterile race circuits here), and you’ll start recognizing intersections from other races—just backwards or with traffic coming the other way. Unlocking cars is a blast too, from a clunky 1920s mobster ride to a tuned-up Japanese beast, each with their own handling quirks. The crash physics are ridiculous in the best way; metal crumples, glass shatters, and sometimes your car just… explodes mid-air.

Crash Mode is pure chaos—aim for the busiest intersection and try to trigger the most catastrophic chain reaction possible. Or play cop in Pursuit Mode, ramming speeders off the road (or team up with a friend where one of you flees while the other chases). It’s dumb, loud, and exactly as fun as it sounds.

Honestly, half the time I’d forget I was even racing and just try to see how long I could last playing chicken with oncoming trucks. The GameCube version holds up surprisingly well—just don’t expect to win any races by driving safely.
