Game Overview

Point of Attack was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several titles from that era. It was developed by Impressions Games, a studio known for its strategic and simulation titles. The game fits squarely into the early 90s wave of turn-based tactical war games that demanded patience and foresight from players, rather than quick reflexes.

You command a small group of armored vehicles and infantry across a grid-based map, maneuvering them through forests, towns, and open fields to engage enemy forces. The main objective is to either capture a key point or eliminate all opposition, depending on the scenario. Signature mechanics include careful use of terrain for cover and elevation advantages, along with managing limited ammunition and fuel for your units. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, with difficulty stemming from the AI's ability to punish careless positioning and exploit any weakness in your line. It feels like a tense, methodical chess match where a single misstep can unravel twenty minutes of cautious advancement.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
