You play as Juste Belmont—whip in hand, attitude in spades—navigating a sprawling, gothic castle that’s somehow even more confusing than the last one. The dash move is a lifesaver, especially when you’re backtracking through rooms for the hundredth time.

What’s cool here is the spellbook system: pair your classic subweapons (axes, holy water, etc.) with magic tomes, and suddenly your attacks get wild upgrades. Holy water becomes a screen-wide rainstorm, or a Bible spins around you like a makeshift shield. The whip customization is fun too—swap out tips to add fire, ice, or just raw damage. And yeah, there’s a weird furniture-collecting side quest nobody asked for, but hey, sometimes you just wanna deck out a vampire’s abandoned sitting room.

It’s not perfect—the soundtrack’s a bit grating, and the castle layout can feel like a maze designed by someone who hates you—but it’s got that classic Castlevania charm. If you’re into exploring every nook for upgrades and secrets, this one’s a solid time.
