Play Castlevania on Msdos Online

Konami released a version of Castlevania for MS-DOS in 1990, part of that early wave of PC ports trying to bring arcade and console action to the home computer. It was a different beast from the NES original, running on hardware that wasn't really built for this kind of fast, smooth scrolling. You got the same basic premise: a vampire hunter in a monster-filled castle, but the feel was entirely its own.

You control Simon Belmont, moving room by room through the castle, whipping candles for hearts and weapons like the dagger or holy water. The main goal is to fight your way to Count Dracula, defeating bosses like the Phantom Bat and Medusa along the way. The combat is straightforward but stiff; jumping feels heavy and deliberate, and the keyboard controls can make precise platforming a real challenge. It's a slower, more methodical take on the formula, where every enemy encounter requires careful timing. Playing it feels like wrestling with the machine itself, a determined effort to find fun within the limits of the hardware.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
