You're Richter Belmont, whipping your way through gothic castles and catacombs packed with zombies, bone-throwing skeletons, and those annoying medusa heads that never stop coming. The pixel art is moody as hell—candelabras shatter when you hit them, moonlight pours through broken stained glass, and Dracula's throne room actually feels like a place where an immortal vampire lord would hang out.

It's tougher than most Castlevania games, though. Some jumps require pixel-perfect timing, and the bosses don't mess around—that duel with Death in the clock tower still gives me nightmares. The music? Absolute bangers, all haunted harpsichords and thunderous drums. Just don't expect Symphony of the Night-style exploration; this is classic, stage-by-stage vampire hunting with no backtracking.
