Play Chaos Engine Online
Blasting through a broken Victorian England where steam-powered horrors and dinosaurs lurk in the fog—pick your merc, watch your ammo, and try not to get shredded by rogue machinery.

Game Overview
Chaos Engine is this wild steampunk shooter where Victorian England’s gone completely off the rails—think mechanical monsters stomping through London fog, rogue automatons, and dinosaurs somehow thrown into the mix. The setup’s great: some time traveler’s tech fell into the wrong hands, a mad inventor built a reality-warping machine, and now everything’s gone to hell. You play as one of six mercenaries (I always went with the sniper or the brute with the gatling gun) fighting through ruined cities and countryside overrun by twisted machines.
The Amiga CD32 version has this awesome voiced intro that sets the mood, but even the text version on floppy gives you that pulpy, "something’s very wrong here" vibe. Gameplay’s top-down run-and-gun with just enough strategy—you’ve gotta manage ammo, pick routes carefully, and sometimes just sprint past enemies because you will get overwhelmed. The art’s all moody greens and browns, like someone smeared oil and brass over everything. It’s one of those games where you can tell the devs had fun making the world feel broken and weird.
Also, good luck finding all the secret warp zones—half of them are hidden behind scenery you’d never think to shoot.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
