Crash Dive came out for the Atari 2600 in 1983, published by 20th Century Fox. It was one of those games that tried to do something a little different on the system, putting you in control of a submarine during a time when many games were still about simple shooting or maze navigation.

You pilot a small sub, moving between the ocean surface and the depths. Your goal is to collect treasure from sunken ships while avoiding enemy helicopters above and sharks below. The deeper you go, the slower your sub moves, adding a real sense of pressure and risk. There's also a massive, invincible sea monster that patrols the lowest depths, forcing you to stay alert and plan your dives carefully. It feels tense and deliberate, a constant balance between greed for points and the fear of losing your one life.
