Dead or Alive ++ is one of those arcade fighters that feels like it’s constantly trying to throw you off balance—in the best way possible. The moment you pick a character (I always end up going back to the ninja guy), you’re thrown into these lightning-fast matches where every punch and kick actually hurts to watch. The physics are ridiculous in that classic arcade way—knock someone off a cliff, and they’ll bounce off three walls before hitting the ground.
It’s got that old-school charm where the AI will absolutely wreck you if you button-mash, but once you figure out the timing for counters, it clicks. The stages are tiny but packed with hazards, and half the fun is seeing how far you can juggle an opponent before they slam into something. Definitely one of those "just one more round" games when you’re playing against a friend.
Also, the Japanese version has some extra costumes and tweaks that make it worth tracking down over the original. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour to rematches.
