Game Overview

Desert Falcon is one of those weird, charming Atari 2600 games that somehow makes a bird feel like an Indiana Jones-style treasure hunter. You swoop through this jagged, isometric desert, dodging vultures that dive at you and warriors who just appear out of nowhere—seriously, where do they even come from? The goal is simple: grab the Pharaoh’s treasures while everything in the desert tries to murder you.

What’s fun is the hieroglyph power-ups. Land on three matching symbols, and suddenly you’re invincible, or warping ahead, or dropping a bomb that clears the sky. The sphinx boss at the end of each level is this big, blocky thing that howls at you while you frantically shoot darts. It’s janky in that classic Atari way, but there’s something satisfying about nailing the timing on those power-ups.

Also, flying fish. In the desert. No explanation given.
