Game Overview

Dino Jnr. in Canyon Capers came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Villa Crespo Software. It was a side-scrolling platformer from that era when games were often built around simple, clear mechanics and bright, blocky graphics. You played as a small dinosaur navigating a series of treacherous canyons and caves, with the goal of rescuing eggs stolen by a rival creature.

You control Dino Jnr., running and jumping across platforms, avoiding obstacles like falling rocks and bottomless pits. The main objective is to progress through each level, collecting gems and finding the exit while evading enemies. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, precise jumping across moving platforms, and using temporary power-ups like invincibility or higher jumps. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can be punishing, with instant death hazards requiring careful timing. It feels tense but satisfying when you finally nail a tricky section after several attempts.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
