Game Overview
Doom II (Supplex) (EU) on the GBA is a weird little port. It's still Doom at its core—dark corridors, shotgun blasts, demons everywhere—but crammed onto a tiny screen. The first few minutes feel familiar if you've played the original, though the controls take some getting used to.
Movement is stiff, and aiming diagonally is a pain, but after a while, you adjust. The levels are condensed but keep the maze-like feel, and somehow, the pixelated gore still works. It's impressive they got this running on a handheld, even if the frame rate chugs when too many enemies swarm you.
Not the best way to play Doom II, but if you're stuck somewhere without a PC, it gets the job done.
