Remember Double Dragon on NES? That gritty, side-scrolling brawler where you and a buddy could team up as Billy and Jimmy Lee to punch your way through waves of street thugs? The story's simple but effective—some gang called the Black Warriors kidnaps Billy's girlfriend, and you've got to fight through slums, factories, and even a forest to get her back. The elbow strike is ridiculously overpowered (seriously, it's your best friend), and grabbing pipes or knives off the ground feels so satisfying when you're surrounded.

What I loved most was the VS. mode—you could pick from Billy or a few of the enemy characters and just duke it out one-on-one. It wasn't as deep as later fighting games, but back then, arguing over who got to play as Abobo was half the fun. The controls are stiff by today's standards, but there's something raw and satisfying about the way punches land. If you grew up with this one, it's pure nostalgia.
