Play Double Dragon 3 on GB Online
Tiny sprites, big punches—Billy and Jimmy still throw down with chunky arcade-style brawls, switching fighting styles mid-combo when you're not smacking thugs with pipes. Screen's cramped, but the two-player mode's worth dusting off a link cable for.

Double Dragon 3 came to the Game Boy in 1991, developed by Technos Japan Corp. It was part of that wave of arcade ports trying to fit big action onto a small screen, and it arrived when beat 'em ups were a staple, even on handhelds. The hardware limitations were obvious, but it was still a recognizable entry in the series for players on the go.
You control either Billy or Jimmy Lee, moving screen by screen to rescue a kidnapped woman while fighting through waves of enemy thugs. The game uses a simple combat system with punches, kicks, and occasional weapon pickups like knives or nunchucks. You also collect coins to purchase new moves or items between stages, which adds a slight layer of strategy. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving due to limited continues and stiff controls. It feels like a condensed, sometimes clunky, but earnest attempt to bring arcade brawling into your pocket.
