Double Dragon V is... weird. Instead of the classic side-scrolling beat 'em up action, they went full Street Fighter clone here. You pick from a roster of characters (Billy and Jimmy are still in, at least) and duke it out one-on-one in that classic '90s fighting game style.
The moves feel stiff compared to something like Mortal Kombat, and the special inputs take some getting used to. But there's something oddly charming about seeing these brawler characters awkwardly trying to fit into a fighting game mold. The stages have that grimy Double Dragon vibe, even if the gameplay's totally different.
Honestly, it's more of a curiosity than a must-play. Fun for a few rounds if you're a diehard Double Dragon fan, but don't expect it to replace your usual fighting game rotation.
