Dragon Quest III came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by Chunsoft. The game has a day-night cycle that changes which monsters appear and which NPCs are around. Progress can be slow; you often need to grind for gold and experience in dangerous areas. It feels methodical and satisfying when your strategies finally pay off.
