Drakkhen came out in 1989 from Infogrames, a strange and ambitious RPG for MS-DOS that felt unlike anything else at the time. It was one of the first games to use 3D polygon graphics for its overworld, creating a stark, angular landscape that you navigated screen by screen. The world felt empty and mysterious, more like an interactive painting than a typical fantasy game of that era.

You control a party of four characters, moving them as a single unit across the land, entering castles and dungeons that switch to a first-person perspective for exploration. Your main goal is to defeat the four dragon lords, but getting there involves deciphering cryptic clues, managing your party's health and magic, and surviving random encounters that can include dragons swooping down from the sky to attack. The pacing is slow, the difficulty is unforgiving, and progress often hinges on trial and error. Playing Drakkhen feels like being lost in someone else's haunting and slightly broken dream.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
