Game Overview

Dungeon Hack came out in 1993 from Strategic Simulations, Inc. as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games lineup. It was a time when dungeon crawlers were often complex and unforgiving, and this game fit right into that tradition without a lot of flash.

You create a single character using AD&D rules and guide them through a randomly generated dungeon, floor by floor. Your goal is to find the Orb located somewhere deep below, fighting monsters, disarming traps, and gathering better gear along the way. The game uses a first-person, grid-based movement system where you explore one square at a time, managing your resources carefully. Combat is turn-based, letting you choose between melee, spells, or ranged attacks. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is high; death is permanent, so every decision matters. It feels tense and absorbing, especially when you’re low on health and far from the exit.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
