Game Overview

EcoQuest: The Search for Cetus came out in 1991 from Sierra On-Line, one of their many adventure titles for MS-DOS. It arrived during a time when point-and-click games were common, and it stood out by focusing on environmental themes instead of fantasy or mystery. You play as a young boy named Adam who gets pulled into an underwater adventure to help the ocean's creatures.

You control Adam, moving him screen by screen to explore reefs, caves, and shipwrecks. The main goal is to find the missing whale king, Cetus, by solving inventory-based puzzles and talking to sea life like dolphins and octopuses. A unique mechanic involves cleaning up pollution; you collect trash and harmful items to restore parts of the ocean. The pacing is relaxed, with logical puzzles that aren't overly punishing if you pay attention to dialogue. It feels thoughtful and quietly rewarding as you help the marine world recover.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
