Game Overview

Enchanted Castle was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't have a specific numbered release in that series. It was developed and published by Apogee Software, known for their shareware model during the early 90s. The game fits right into that era of platformers, where colorful, simple graphics and straightforward action were the norm.

You control a young prince who must rescue a princess from a magical castle. You explore the castle room by room, jumping on platforms and avoiding or defeating enemies like bats and knights. The game includes screen by screen exploration, collecting keys to unlock doors, and finding hidden items that grant extra lives or power-ups. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with precise jumps and enemy patterns to learn. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes frustrating, but always earnest attempt at a classic platforming adventure.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
