Game Overview

So you’ve been snatched by some creepy alien called the Mindmaster, and now you’re trapped in this maze while he judges humanity based on how fast you can solve puzzles. No pressure, right? The first maze seems simple enough—find colored pegs and match them to the right holes—but then you hear this ominous beeping getting louder. That’s the Alien Stalker, and if he touches you, you lose a life. The beeps tell you how close he is, which is equal parts helpful and terrifying.

Things get meaner as you go. Force fields zap you in maze two, and by maze four, there are one-way doors that’ll trap you if you backtrack. Between mazes, the Mindmaster throws these little skill tests at you—dodging falling bricks, repeating arrow sequences, landing a spaceship without crashing. Mess up, and you lose points fast. Your score ticks down the longer you take, so hesitation isn’t exactly rewarded.

Oh, and those Atari difficulty switches? Left one gives you more lives (or fewer, if you hate yourself), and the right one decides whether the Stalker sprints or just casually strolls after you. By maze six, you’ll either feel like a genius or wonder why the fate of humanity was ever in your hands. Either way, the Mindmaster’s final verdict is… brutally honest.
