Play Frontier: Elite II Online
Start with a junker ship and a few credits, then hustle your way across a galaxy where every shady deal or political choice comes back to bite you. Try not to pancake your drifting freighter into a space station when you misjudge the approach—again.

Frontier: Elite II came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, published by GameTek. It was part of that wave of ambitious space sims that pushed PCs to their limits, with a sprawling, open galaxy that felt genuinely massive for its time. You started with a basic ship and a tiny bank balance, and from there, the universe was yours to navigate, for better or worse.
You pilot a ship, trading goods, taking missions, or turning to piracy to scrape together enough credits for better gear. The main goal is open ended; you might aim to become Elite ranked, explore distant systems, or simply survive. Key mechanics include Newtonian flight physics, which make docking and combat feel weighty and deliberate, and a vast, procedurally generated galaxy with thousands of star systems to visit. The pacing is slow and methodical, demanding patience as you plot hyperspace jumps and manage fuel. It feels like carving out a life on your own terms in a cold, indifferent universe.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
