Game Overview

So, Greg Norman's Golf Power on NES is one of those old-school golf games that actually holds up pretty well. You've got a bunch of real-world courses—everything from Scotland's windy links to sunny Hawaii—and yeah, you can even build your own if you're feeling creative. The weather actually matters here too; one minute you're lining up a shot in calm sunshine, the next you're fighting through rain and gusts of wind.

What I like is how simple but deep the swing mechanic is. You time a power meter to set your shot strength, but it's not just about power—you've gotta watch for hooks and slices too. Putting switches to an overhead view, which makes judging slopes way easier. There's a practice mode if you want to work on your short game, and three difficulty levels that actually feel different (novice is forgiving, pro will wreck you). Mostly, it's just satisfying to land a perfect drive or sink a long putt after accounting for wind and terrain.
