Game Overview

Home Alone for the Game Boy came out in 1991, developed by Imagineering Inc. It was one of those many licensed games from the era, trying to capture the movie's spirit on a handheld. You play as Kevin McCallister, left to defend the house from the Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv.

You control Kevin, moving room to room in the house, setting traps to stop the burglars. The main goal is to survive until the police arrive, which means avoiding the Bandits while you collect items like ornaments and toy cars to use against them. The game uses screen by screen exploration, with each room presenting opportunities or dangers. You have to be quick, laying traps just before the thieves enter, and the difficulty comes from their increasing numbers and speed. It feels frantic and a little silly, trying to outsmart pixelated crooks with household items.
