Play Hoops Online
NES basketball with 1v1 or 2v2 half-court action—steals, blocks, and those classic awkward dunks. Pick your court and ball out.

Hoops is a basketball game for the Nintendo Entertainment System that came out in 1988, developed and published by Jaleco. It was one of a few sports titles on the system that tried to capture the feel of arcade basketball without getting too complicated, fitting right in with the kind of straightforward, competitive games people played back then.
You control one of two players on a half court, either in one-on-one or two-on-two matches. The main goal is simple: outscore your opponent before time runs out. You dribble, pass, shoot, and go for steals or blocks, but the real standout is the dunking mechanic; you have to time your jump just right near the hoop to pull off a slam, and it feels both clumsy and satisfying when you get it. The game moves quickly, with a focus on fast breaks and tight defense, and the difficulty can spike depending on who you're playing against. It’s a bare bones but energetic take on basketball that makes for some quick, chaotic fun with a friend.
