Game Overview

Humans, developed by Imagitec Design and published by GameTek, arrived on the Amiga in 1991. It was a time when the platform was rich with inventive puzzle games, and this one carved out its own niche with a focus on group coordination and clever environmental interaction rather than speed or combat.

You control a small tribe of humans, guiding them through a series of side-view levels filled with hazards like water pits, cliffs, and hostile creatures. The main goal is to get at least one of your humans to the exit of each stage, but the challenge lies in using your entire team to overcome obstacles. Key mechanics include stacking characters on top of one another to reach higher ledges, forming human chains or bridges to cross gaps, and operating levers or moving objects to alter the environment. The pacing is deliberate, requiring careful thought and timing, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as new elements are introduced. It feels satisfying to slowly work through a tricky puzzle by coordinating your little group's efforts.
