Game Overview

I first played The Humans: Insult to Injury back in the early '90s, when it came out as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup from GameTek. It was one of those puzzle platformers that felt right at home on the PC, a time when games often relied on clever ideas rather than flashy graphics. You controlled a tribe of early humans trying to survive and progress through a series of increasingly tricky levels.

You guide your cavemen through each screen, stacking logs to build bridges, timing jumps over pits, and avoiding hazards like water and predators. The main goal is to get your entire group safely to the exit, which often requires careful coordination and a lot of trial and error. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty can be punishing if you misplace a single object or mistime a move. It feels like a genuine test of patience and logic, with a real sense of relief when everything finally falls into place.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
