Game Overview

Ice Age for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2002, developed by Ubi Soft. It was one of those many licensed games from that era, built to tie in with the animated movie. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it was a solid platformer that fit right in with what was available on the handheld at the time.

You control Sid the sloth, and sometimes switch to Scrat, working through levels based on scenes from the film. The main goal is to reunite the herd with the human baby, moving screen by screen across icy cliffs, dark caves, and melting valleys. You'll do a lot of jumping across gaps, avoiding falling icicles, and pushing blocks to solve simple puzzles. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some jumps require good timing. It feels like a compact, no-fuss adventure that gets you from one end of the level to the other without too much fuss.
