Ice Hockey on NES is one of those classic sports games that somehow nails the chaos of the real thing. You pick your team first—and here's the fun part—you get to mix and match player types. Go all fast and skinny for speed, beefy guys who can knock opponents into next week, or balanced players if you can't decide. (I usually end up with one big guy just for the satisfying body checks.)

The game itself is pure arcade-style mayhem. The screen scrolls to follow the puck, and you're constantly switching control between players on defense—which keeps you on your toes. Oh, and fights break out sometimes, because of course they do. Lose one, and you're stuck watching from the penalty box. You can tweak the game speed and period length too, which is nice when you want a quick match or a full-on endurance test.
