Game Overview

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings came out on PlayStation Portable in 2009, developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and published by LucasArts. It was one of the few action-adventure titles on the PSP that tried to capture the feel of the films, arriving late in the handheld's life when players were hungry for something substantial and cinematic.

You control Indiana Jones through a series of globetrotting chapters, using his whip to swing across pits, disarm enemies, and interact with the environment. The main goal is to prevent rival archaeologists from obtaining the Staff of Moses, which involves brawling through crowds of thugs, solving environmental puzzles, and occasionally taking control of vehicles in chase sequences. Fistfights are simple but satisfying, with context-sensitive actions letting you use objects like chairs or barrels in combat. The pacing is brisk, though some quick-time events can feel abrupt. It feels like a condensed, portable Indy adventure, complete with the rough-and-tumble action the character is known for.
