Play Inspector Gadget on Snes Online

You chase Dr. Claw through a haunted castle, flinging bombs and climbing walls with suction cups—just don’t get hit or Gadget’s stuck in his underwear. That propeller hat makes up for the janky punches, though.

Game Overview

Inspector Gadget on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1993, developed by Hudson Soft. It was one of those many licensed platformers from that era, based on the animated series, and it had a certain charm if you were a fan of the source material. The game didn't break new ground, but it was a solid entry that fit right in with the platform's library at the time.

You control Inspector Gadget, moving through levels screen by screen to stop Dr. Claw's plans. Your main goal is to progress through each stage, defeating enemies and avoiding hazards. Gadget has a basic punch attack, but his signature moves come from his extendable limbs; you can use his Gadget Arms to reach higher platforms or hit distant switches, and his Gadget Copter lets you briefly hover over gaps. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with instant death pits and enemies that require precise timing. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes frustrating, but occasionally clever adaptation of the show.
