Iron Man 2 on DS is one of those rare movie tie-ins that actually gets the feel of flying around in a suit right. You pick between Tony’s sleek Iron Man or Rhodey’s beefed-up War Machine—and yeah, they handle totally differently. Iron Man zips around like a jet, dodging and weaving, while War Machine just bulldozes through enemies with that touchscreen-controlled minigun. Feels good to switch between them.
The story’s its own thing, not just rehashing the movie, which is nice. You’ll run into some deep-cut Marvel villains (Crimson Dynamo shows up looking ridiculous in the best way). And if you’re into the comics, there’s a bunch of unlockable suits—some classic, some weird deep cuts. The sidescrolling action gets chaotic when missiles and drones fill the screen, but in that satisfying "I’m definitely a superhero" way.
It’s not perfect—some levels drag—but blasting robots while hovering just feels right.
