Game Overview

Jack Nicklaus Golf & Course Design: Signature Edition came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, published by Accolade. It was one of the more ambitious golf sims for its time, letting you not just play but also build the courses, which was a pretty novel idea back then on home computers.

You control a golfer through each hole, carefully adjusting your swing power and direction while accounting for wind and terrain. The main goal is to shoot the lowest score, either on premade courses or ones you design yourself. Two key mechanics stand out: the detailed course editor where you place hazards, adjust elevation, and shape every fairway and green, and the three-click swing system that requires precise timing. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and misjudging a putt or landing in a deep bunker can be punishing. It feels satisfying to plot your way around a course you built, especially when a risky shot pays off.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
