Game Overview

Jack the Ripper on MS-DOS is one of those games that makes you feel like a proper Victorian detective—minus the fog and questionable hygiene. You’re a Scotland Yard inspector, knee-deep in Whitechapel’s grime, trying to outthink history’s most notorious killer. No running around with a revolver here; instead, you’re scribbling clues in a notebook, badgering sketchy witnesses, and trying to connect the dots between bloodstains and alibis.

The whole thing plays out like a slow-burn logic puzzle. You’ll stare at witness statements for way too long, muttering things like “But if the butcher saw him here, how’d he end up there?” It’s not flashy, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about finally lining up all your “premises” (fancy detective talk for clues) and realizing you’ve been ignoring the obvious suspect the whole time.

Definitely not for everyone—if you’re after action, you’ll be bored stiff. But if you’ve ever wanted to pretend you’re Sherlock Holmes with a terrible haircut and a pipe you don’t know how to smoke, this’ll scratch that itch. Just don’t blame me when you start side-eyeing your neighbors afterward.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
