Game Overview

Jack in the Dark is this weird little MS-DOS horror game that feels like a bite-sized version of Alone in the Dark—because, well, it kinda is. Same engine, same creepy vibes, but condensed into a short teaser for Alone in the Dark 2. You play as this kid named Grace, stuck in a mansion full of jump scares and unsettling atmosphere. The controls are janky by today’s standards, but there’s something charming about its low-res, polygonal horror.

It’s over fast—like, 15 minutes fast—but it nails that eerie, "something’s watching me" feeling. If you’ve played the original Alone in the Dark, it’s a neat little curiosity. If not, it’s still a fun (and slightly ridiculous) time capsule of early survival horror.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
