Game Overview

Jackson City is a lesser known release from the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a title that surfaced without a clear developer or publisher attached. It belongs to that era of early PC gaming where ambition often outpaced technical polish, and it fits right in with the experimental, sometimes chaotic, spirit of the platform.

You control a small, blocky character navigating a top down urban grid, tasked with evading police and causing general mayhem to build a criminal reputation. The core loop involves stealing cars, which handle with a loose, unpredictable physics model, and completing small missions like robbing stores or outrunning patrols. The city is divided into distinct screens you scroll between, and the action is fast, unforgiving, and frequently absurd, especially when a stolen vehicle flips end over end from a minor collision. It feels like controlling a tiny riot in a world that barely holds together.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
