Game Overview

Kaiju Busters Powered is one of those weird, chaotic DS games that somehow works. You're basically thrown into a city under siege by giant monsters, and your job is to take them down—whether that means blasting them with military weapons, luring them into traps, or just improvising with whatever’s lying around. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you figure out how to dodge a kaiju’s foot stomp at the last second, it clicks.

What I love is how ridiculous some of the strategies get. One fight had me baiting a monster into smashing a dam so the flood would knock it off balance. Another time, I just unloaded missiles from a helicopter until it finally toppled over. The Japanese text can be a hurdle, but the action is straightforward enough that you’ll muddle through. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like the underdog in a Godzilla movie, this is your chance.
