Game Overview

Redneck Rampage came out in 1997 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Xatrix Entertainment. It arrived during a time when first-person shooters were rapidly evolving, but this one leaned hard into absurdity rather than realism or sci-fi ambition. The game runs on the Build engine, the same tech that powered Duke Nukem 3D, but swaps urban chaos for backroads and barnyards.

You play as Leonard or Bubba, two brothers on a mission to retrieve their stolen prize-winning pig. Gameplay involves navigating maze-like levels, blasting enemies like aliens and farm animals with weapons ranging from a pitchfork to dynamite. Health is managed with items like beer and pork rinds, and the levels are filled with hidden switches and keys. The action is fast and often unforgiving, with cramped spaces and aggressive enemies. It feels rowdy, unpolished, and deliberately over the top, like a B-movie you can play.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
