Kid was one of those games that came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Kidsoft. It fit right into that era of platformers where you expected simple controls and a lot of repetition, no fancy graphics or elaborate stories to get in the way.

You control a small character, Kid, navigating through a series of single-screen rooms filled with hazards like moving saw blades and bouncing enemies. The main goal is to reach the exit in each level, often by timing your jumps carefully or using springs to reach higher platforms. You explore screen by screen, with no map to guide you, and the difficulty comes from precise movement and memorizing enemy patterns. It feels like a test of patience and reflexes, where every mistake sends you back to the beginning of the stage.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
