King of Dragons on the SNES is one of those games that grabs you by the collar and throws you right into the action. You pick your hero—I always go for the Elf because, let’s be honest, shooting arrows from a distance beats getting smacked by an ogre—and then it’s just non-stop hacking, slashing, and occasionally panicking when a dragon shows up. The pixel art is gorgeous, all bright colors and chunky sprites that make every sword swing feel satisfying.

It’s way more fun with a friend, though. Co-op turns the whole thing into this glorious mess where you’re both yelling at the screen, stealing each other’s health potions, and barely surviving the ridiculous boss fights. And yeah, it’s not some deep RPG, but leveling up your character between stages gives you just enough of that "one more run" feeling. If you miss the days when games were simple, loud, and packed with dragons, this one’s a no-brainer.
