The King of Dragons is one of those SNES games that feels like an arcade cabinet somehow got crammed into your living room. You start by picking your hero—I always went for the Elf because throwing daggers from a distance just felt right—and then it’s off to slaughter orcs, skeletons, and the occasional fire-breathing lizard the size of a house. The pixel art pops with these rich, moody colors, and the sound design? Every sword swing and spell blast has this satisfying weight to it.
What I love is how it mixes classic beat-'em-up chaos with just enough RPG flavor to keep things interesting. Your character actually levels up, unlocking new moves and hitting harder as you carve through each stage. And yeah, the final dragon fight is as epic as it sounds—you’ll need every bit of that progression by then. Grab a friend for co-op, and it’s pure 16-bit mayhem. Still one of the best fantasy brawlers on the system.
