King’s Quest VI picks up with Prince Alexander obsessing over Princess Cassima after their brief meeting in the last game. He finally snaps, hires a ship, and sails to the edge of the world—only to get wrecked in a storm and wash up on the Green Isles. Of course, nothing’s simple: Cassima’s parents are dead, the kingdom’s falling apart, and the vizier might be holding her prisoner. Classic adventure game setup.

You’ll bounce between four islands, each with its own fairy-tale weirdness—talking animals, riddles, and the usual Sierra mix of charm and sudden, brutal deaths. The puzzles are mostly straightforward, but there’s a nice twist late on where you can take two totally different paths to the ending. And yeah, you’ll want to save often. One wrong move and Alexander’s taking an unplanned swim with the sharks.

The CD version’s got full voice acting (a big deal back then) and that haunting "Girl in the Tower" song that somehow sticks in your head for decades. If you’ve got nostalgia for point-and-click adventures, this one’s still a gem.
