King's Quest VI on the Amiga is one of those classic point-and-click adventures that just oozes charm—even if the puzzles can be downright cruel sometimes. You play as Prince Alexander, sailing to the Isle of the Crown to rescue Princess Cassima, but nothing goes smoothly. The island’s full of weird little details, like a talking door knocker or a minotaur who’s way too into riddles. And yeah, you’ll probably die a lot—falling off cliffs, getting eaten by creatures, the usual—but the world’s so rich and the writing’s witty enough that you won’t even mind reloading.

The Amiga version’s got these gorgeous, painterly backdrops that still hold up, and the soundtrack’s weirdly haunting. Just don’t expect hand-holding—half the fun (or frustration) is figuring out which obscure item in your inventory solves the next bizarre problem. I still have nightmares about that damn cat.
