King's Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow came out in 1992 from Sierra On-Line, a big name in MS-DOS adventure games back then. It was part of that era where you spent a lot of time typing commands or clicking through detailed, static scenes, and this one really pushed what those games could do with its story and scope.

You play as Prince Alexander, trying to rescue Princess Cassima from an arranged marriage on the Isle of the Crown. You explore the island screen by screen, picking up items, talking to characters (some friendly, some not), and solving logic puzzles that often require careful observation. There are multiple paths to the ending, and the difficulty comes from figuring out what to use where; it's not about combat, but about thinking your way through fairy tale problems. Playing it feels like slowly untangling a very satisfying, elaborate knot.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
