Klax came out on the Sega Genesis in 1990, a puzzle game from Atari Games that felt right at home among the platform's other straightforward, high-score chasers. You control a small paddle at the bottom of the screen, catching colored tiles as they slide down a ramp toward you. The goal is to prevent a pile-up by grabbing these tiles and placing them into a grid, forming rows, columns, or diagonals of three or more matching colors to clear them. The real tension comes from the constantly increasing speed and the limited space in your holding area, forcing quick decisions about which tile to catch next and where to slot it.
